Here's the announcement of the party in the Cascade Bicycle Calendar for August 1999:
Join Scott and Jack on August 26, for the very last Thursday Social ride. Scott and Jack have decided to not lead these rides after tonight! Boo Hoo but certainly we can respect their decision and be thankful they gave us 10 wonderful years of Thursday night bike rides, camaraderie and eating! The 10 years of rides have produced everything from riders getting married to a rider having a heart attack and a rider getting a baby! Did I say these rides were just a bit more than cycling the back streets of Seattle?

If you've ever ridden with Scott and Jack, or even want to see what all the hoopla is about (or the current Thursday group ), come join us on Thursday (rain or shine) and pedal a few miles on the last Thursday Social ride! Join us on the Last Gasworks Thursday Social ride of not only the decade, not only the century but of the millenium!

And Barlees indeed was filled with 20-30 riders/people from the current year and from years past. (Anita, Claudia, .... and others). Over the years I personally got into the habit of ordering the same thing - Barbecued Chicken Salad with Honey Mustard Dressing. When I arrived at Barlees for the party, I was told by the waitress that there was no chicken tonight and everyone at the table confirmed it by not ordering chicken. I of course was quite flabbergasted calm and very accepting (not). However it was a small trick as this photo indicates. What they brought me was a salad about 3-4 times the size of a normal salad with large cups of honey mustard dressing.

There was much more halla-baloo - Scott and Jack got wooden plaques (from Fred) signed by the Mayor praising their contribution to the environment and physical fitness and health of it's citizens etcetera. A fine party was enjoyed by all - Thanks Fred!

Of course as you know the Thursday Night rides have continued (Thanks to Scott) but Barlees 2004 update: Barlees has been reincarnated! is no more and the after-ride dinners have never been the same. (No Chicken salad for me!)
